Blue Communities Africa will launch a series of workshops in Africa this October, aimed at promoting equitable and responsible water practices and educating local communities on the principles of water justice and conservation. The workshops will take place in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, andZimbabwe between October 15th and 30th, 2024.
The workshops are part of a broader effort to engage communities with best practices in water equity and protection efforts and guide them through the application process for recognition as Blue Communities.
Workshops to Empower Communities
This Blue Communities Africa initiative focuses on public and community control of water resources, ensuring that water is treated as a public good rather than a commodity. With water challenges such as privatization, pollution, and rising prices increasingly affecting African communities, the workshops will inspire practical solutions and empower local leaders to take action.
